Ear wax are dead skin and oil generated by the ear to protect the ear. Occasionally, ear wax may accumulate within the ear canal causing blockage, ear pain or a ringing sound. Ear wax maybe impacted or infected causing ear canal infection (Otitis Externa) and pain. They can be removed in the clinic through micro-suction, very fine specialized forceps, and high magnification microscope. Occasional ear wax may cause ear canal inflammation, an expanded ear canal and infection.
